Echopark Korina Flying V Historic Spec Case Study "Albert 58"
Period correct aged finish, metallic Inverness green, exact copy of a 1958 Flying V. We all know who builds the best V in the business. Which is why Jimmy Vivino, Charlie Starr, Dave Catching, Richard Fortus, Joe B, Gibson, etc have gone to Gabriel specifically for historic spec Korina V's with the old school, indispensable large, solid neck tenon. It's the wood. It's a once in a lifetime, prized stash of old 1960's milled white limba that has been air drying in an undisclosed location.
No hype. You can't hype this guitar. These guitars are unbelievably good playing and sounding. Play like butter, as you would suspect. Should be twice the price. Get near exact (or better?) feel and tone for a fraction of the price. Truly unbelievable playability here. It's levels above. No words or videos or audio clips will do justice to this silky, buttery, sensual feel. Extremely easy playing guitar. Extremely alive and resonant in the higher register (due to neck tenon). Makes for a superb, world class lead-playing instrument. Finish has just a slight metallic, and really comes alive in the light. Wow. This guitar likely plays better than 90% of all 1950's Gibson guitars. I can easily stand behind that statement. Magical guitar that will go down in history. You can search high & low. There were approximately 10 made, and even fewer left to be made. And then that's it.
This guitar doesn't seem real. When you play this instrument, it feels as though there's something else helping you along. I mean, there is. There is something helping you along. The neck shape so ideal, the tone of the pickups so real. This is an heirloom guitar that is completely irreplaceable and without peers. When you talk to people who play & record with Dave or Richard's flying V, you will hear all these words echo'd. It's the wood and construction technique, the glue, the angles, the pickups. The wood. "Best guitar I ever played". Yea. Pretty much. It's up there in the top 1%.
