Cord Heritage Clothing Line

DIYshirts contributed to the much anticipated Cord Heritage clothing line, items are available at cordheritage.com or at The Petersen Museum in Hollywood, CA. We printed 6 t-shirt designs and a few hoodie designs, and provided 2 different embroidered hats for the project, which launched in mid December 09 with a party at The Petersen.  E.L. Cord was the founder of American Airways, which became American Airlines, and he produced some of the most collectible cars of all time.  Most of these amazing autos can be seen at art deco Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Museum in Auburn, IN which also hosts the largest, most attended car show in the world every summer. Cord is one of our premier customers, and they are absolutely fantastic to work with.  They provided great artwork, and we provided direction on printing and garment selection, as well as color matching to their exact specifications, and extensive sampling along the way.

Vogue Magazine Shoot

DIYshirts printed some samples for super high end fashion designer Alexander Wang for NYC’s Fashion’s Night Out, which eneded up being one of the biggest and most widely publicized t-shirts of 2009. This job specifically called for over sized digital printing using soft eco-friendly water based inks.  These 9/11 themed Alexander Wang t-shirts were featured on 5 pages of Septempber Vogue, worn by lots of celebrities and sold at boutiques and department stores all over the US.

Joe Strummer Benefit

With great pride we screen printed three different shirts for the Strummerville benefit at The Key Club this December.  This was a fantastic show, which will be released on DVD in 2010, featuring Love & Rockets, Mike Watt, La Plebe, Zander Schloss, Flea, Dix Denney, Martyn Lenoble and many others. The merch tables were busy that night, but we were able to chat a bit with Shepard Fairey and Lea Thompson (sold them shirts too of course!). What a great show, produced by none other than SF’s Marc Malakie and Kevin Haskins.
